Catalinas, north of Tucson. Joins Santa
Cruz river a few miles above Tucson
"The old road from Tucson to old Camp Grant at the mouth of the
Aravaipa on the San Pedro, ran through this canyon. Several men were killed here in May, 1870, by
Apaches." Farish.
"Tradition says
gold was found in abundance in this canyon in early days." Bourke.
