Map, Coconino N. F., 1928.

In sec. 2, T. 17 N., R. 5 E.  "Nobody seems to know where this butte got the name,  'Capitol.'  People at Sedona say it was once called 'Judge Otey's Tombstone' because the Judge frequently remarked he would like to be buried at what is now known as Capitol Butte."  Letter, Ed.
